States Attorney Candidate Donna More and Attorney Sam Adam, Jr. On WVON Sunday Afternoon
Discuss Solutions To Improve The Handling of Police-Involved Shootings In The State’s Attorney’s Office
Chicago – Dec 11, 2015 A week after endorsing Donna More for Cook County State’s Attorney, respected Chicago defense attorney Sam Adam, Jr. will join Donna More for an in-depth discussion into how the State’s Attorney’s Office, under Anita Alvarez, consistently and predictably failed the citizens of Cook County. They will be joined by members from Black Lives Matter and family members of Chicago police shooting victims.
Together, More and Adam pinned an Op Ed column for the Chicago Sun Times this weekend in which they stated, “ With Chicago sitting on the edge of widespread community unrest, it is time to stop passing the buck to the federal government. Our faith in the County’s criminal justice system is wilting and we don’t have the luxury of waiting for federal investigators to complete their work. We need to act now on critical reforms”.
In her campaign to replace Alvarez as Cook County State’s Attorney, More has pledged to restore trust, transparency and justice in that office, while remaining firm on cracking down on gun violence and on those who commit violent crimes. More is the only candidate in the race who has presented voters with an aggressive policy on reducing gun violence.
