Durbin/DSCC Insults Black Community With No Zopp Interview!!
Far too many in the Black community gave former Governor Pat Quinn passes on a lot of issues because he was our "friend, and here we are again giving our "friend" Dick Durbin a pass on how his Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee (DSCC) just blew off the candidacy of Attorney Andrea Zopp with their slating of Tammy Duckworth. You do not have to like the candidacy of Zopp to NOT like the process of just assuming you are going to get Black support even after you openly disrespect a major candidate from the Black community. Then Durbin, like Quinn will parade around with many of our Black community leaders supporting Durbin and Duckworth and NEVER stating ONE PLATFORM issue of importance to the Black community that they are committed to for our support.

I do not care that in the end if Duckworth ultimately becomes the nominee, but it should come from the RESPECT from our community and our issues that we can SEE ourselves in. Tammy Duckworth has to EARN Black support and just for the mere "appearance" of fairness and the Democratic process should NOT even accept the Committee's endorsement that she knows did not even do the professional courtesy interviews of the Democratic candidates INCLUDING Attorney Andrea Zopp. Durbin's leadership on this Democratic Senate Slating Committee is suspect and invalid in my judgement and is not worthy of Black support when they can just walk over the only major announced Black candidate in their not even interviewing Zopp before endorsing Duckworth. Now I ain't stupid in knowing how close and strong supporter Durbin has been of Duckworth so interviewing Zopp would have not stopped the ultimate endorsement of Duckworth. Durbin can be Black people's friend but that does not mean that Black people are just supposed to remain SILENT when they disagree. Black people who support Durbin can do so BUT make the man RESPECT YOU and your community.

Not interviewing Zopp for slating consideration was a DISRESPECTFUL to the Democratic process and and insult to the Black community whether you support Zopp personally or not. And damned shame on the Black leaders who have said privately but NOT PUBLICLY to Durbin their dislike of the exclusion of Zopp and I am going to be pissed if Duckworth wins the nomination and you come parading Durbin through the Black community with Duckworth while NEVER publicly opening your mouth about the disrespect him Campaign Slating Committee showed in not interviewing Zopp for slating consideration.
