National Black Wall Street Chicago is proud to help do local community outreach participation and promotions for the in the upcoming ABC 7 News South Side Block Party to be held on Friday May 13, 2016, and their broadcasting LIVE now from The Harold Washington Cultural Center on the historic corner of 47th and King Drive!! To make room for more community participation it was moved from its original location of the corner of 41st & King Drive.
In an effort to combat the negative stereotypes that surround this often misunderstood neighborhood, ABC 7 is hosting a special early morning broadcast that will feature those who are making a positive difference within the South Side community.
This neighborhood celebration, anchored from the legendary Bronzeville community corner of 47th & King Drive, will be held from 5 a.m. to 7 a.m., will coincide with ABC 7’s morning newscast and feature the best the South Side has to offer. We look forward to hosting some of the community’s most well-known entertainers such as the Jesse White Tumblers, a local DJ, the Bucket Boys and Greek steppers.
South Side restauranteurs will be asked to showcase some of their most popular dishes and will provide free samples to those in the audience. This event also provides guests the opportunity to network with others in their community and learn about all the wonderful things going on in the South Side.
National Black Wall Street is again pleased to help motivate community participation, and now the fact the broadcast will take place on 47th & King Drive on the same corner that also houses The National Black Wall Street Chicago Offices!!
