Revolution Summer - Forging a Different Future |
May 25, 2017 Friends, Summer is coming, and people in Chicago fear it will be a summer of the horror of young Black people killing other Black people intensifying. At a rally in South Shore on May 20th, the Revolution Club-Chicago declared its determination to make this summer something different – a summer of young people getting out of killing each other and getting into the revolution. At this rally, the Revolution Club put forward a vision of a future far different than the future people face today - living in torn up communities with few legitimate ways to survive and raise families, dealing with an education system that is geared to fail the youth, having only getting caught up in the street life and its code of retaliation as a way to try to be somebody and facing the prospect of being beat down, arrested or even murdered by the police. The Revolution Club delivered a message that there was a way out of the hell this system has enforced on Black people. That way is revolution to overthrow this system and bring into being a totally different and far better future for everybody – a future where the daring and creativity of our youth gets unleashed and guided to eradicate the poverty, degradation and brutality suffered by people allover the world. And the Revolution Club introduced people to the leadership we have for this revolution in Bob Avakian, the leader of the Revolutionary Communist Party, and challenged people to get with Avakian and the revolution he's leading. (Click here for a link to a report on the rally from the web site, revcom.us.) We are determined to make our declaration of this being a different summer real. And there's a role for you to play in making this happen. The Revolution Club will be developing plans to go froward in challenging the youth to get out of killing each other and get into the revolution. We urge you to: • Look for & spread the plans of the Revolution Club as they get developed. Sincerely, Carl Dix |
