Rauner Silent Despite New Legionnaires' Cases and Damning Emails
Chicago, IL – Bruce Rauner is once again evading responsibility and refusing to be transparent about the Legionnaires’ crisis, with questions going unanswered.
Weeks ago, four new cases of Legionnaires’ were discovered at the Quincy facility where 13 died on Bruce Rauner’s watch, but his administration remains tight lipped on the details surrounding the new cases. Rauner has also failed to address the 1,400 newly-released emails detailing his administration’s quick response to the public relations crisis while they left the public health crisis to fester.
“Time and again, Bruce Rauner has shown either an inability or unwillingness to be transparent about his fatal mismanagement of the Quincy Legionnaires’ crisis,” said Pritzker campaign spokeswoman Jordan Abudayyeh. “The public deserves to know who is at risk and why people died as this failed governor managed his image instead of taking charge.”
