A broad cross section of progressive and community leaders and activists—including many who have participated in the Bernie Sanders campaign—will gather in Chicago Friday, June 17, throughSunday, June 19, for a forum on next steps for the populist upsurge that has characterized much of the 2016 Presidential race. More than 3,000 people are expected to join the Summit.

The Summit opens Friday with presentations by Naomi Klein, RoseAnn DeMoro, and Juan Gonzalez outlining visions of the progressive movement. Livestream, 7 p.m..
On Saturday, leaders will discuss how collective actions have led to social change. Presenters include Dante Barry from A Million Hoodies: Movement for Justice and Linda Sarsour founder of MPOWER. Livestream, 8:30 a.m.
Saturday afternoon, Rep. Tulsi Gabbard, former Ohio State Sen. Nina Turner, Cook County Commissioner Jesus "Chuy" Garcia, and John Nichols, of The Nation, will participate in a discussion on unifying movement activists. Livestream, 1 p.m.
Additional Saturday afternoon workshops: Livestream of the Media and the Moment and Building Independent Political Power, 2 p.m., and an economic critique of the writings of columnist Paul Krugman, 4 p.m.
Saturday evening will also feature a "People's Speak" of dramatic readings by actors including Rosario Dawson, Gaby Hoffman,Wallace Shawn, and Kendrick Sampson.
Sunday, the Summit concludes with a celebration of Juneteenth, anniversary of the abolition of slavery, and discussions of how to bring actions back to communities. Livestream, 8:30 a.m.
