Media Ignores Father Pfleger's Call For Media Challenge On State Of Emergency In Chicago Shootings And Murders?
"So, the Tribune now reports that August is the DEADLIEST month in 20 YEARS in CHICAGO....WHY AREN'T WE CALLING FOR A STATE OF EMERGENCY....We do it for floods and Fires, and Hurricanes.......Is property more valuable than LIVES......WE ARE DROWNING IN BLOOD.." (Father Michael Pfleger Facebook Post 8-29-2016)
There MUST be a reason why on the one hand that now the majority of our local to national media have now reported that August has been the DEADLIEST month in 20 years in Chicago, while on the other, blatantly IGNORING the desperate public appeal of Father Michael Pfleger for the same local and national media to have public reporting and editorial positions that Chicago should be declared a STATE OF EMERGENCY!!! I have seen a many local and national news reports where the media has quoted various quotes and statements from Father Pflegers social media pages BUT NOT this current call for a STATE OF EMERGENCY to be called on behalf of the historic violent and deadly toll on human bodies as we do for the disasters from floods, firers, hurricanes? I absolutely join the public challenge to the media in that "is property valued more that the the historic bloodshed of human lives?"
Only the respective, news, assignment and editorial editors can answer WHY do they constantly report the historic numbers of violence and death yet NOT public declare the STATE OF EMERGENCY unless of course its more convenient to REPORT the problems versus the public call for the RESOURCES to address the ills of what caused the State Of Emergency. In other State Of Emergency calls our local and national media provide TEAM COVERAGE of the governments responses to its deliverance of resources to rebuild the physical properties of communities destroyed by floods, fires and hurricanes, but NO TEAM COVERAGE of whether the government will respond to the resources to repair the results of over 30 years of mental and social service cuts , and the resources to eliminate the thousands and thousands of social, mental, and disconnected youth and others who continue to seek the gang, drug and other illegal street economies for their sources of income for there lack of jobs, and other legal economic opportunities, even at the ongoing results of violence and death.
The media of part of the problem with the ongoing reporting of the historic number of shootings, violence and death in Chicago with their ongoing failure to ignore the desperate public appeal of Father Michael Pfleger!!!
