HUNDREDS OF GRAND BOULEVARD BOYS AND GIRLS RECEIVE FREE HAIR CUTS, HAIR STYLES AND FREE SCHOOL SUPPLIES MONDAY SEPTEMBER 5th

On Monday September 5th from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM Three (3) community barber shops and beauty shops will give free hair styles and free backpacks to a few hundred community youth from ages 5-15 as part the 15th Year Back To School Promotion in the Grand Boulevard Community. 

For the past 15 years several thousand community youth have benefited from this annual back to school promotion, coordinated by veteran community activist Bamani Obadeli, and this years sponsorship again from local elected officials Alderman Pat Dowell and State Senator Mattie Hunter. 

The barber shops providing FREE hair cuts for boys are ANOTHER BARBER SHOP located at 843 East 47th Street and DA BARBER SHOP located at 343 East 47th Street.  For the girls, they will get their FREE hair styles from The BLESSED HANDS Beauty Salon, located at 840 East 47th Street.
