King's POOR PEOPLE'S CAMPAIGN principles if practiced today could help successfully address many of the issues of Unemployment, small business development, corporate responsibility, public policy and other issues in majority Black and poor communities

HEAR MY VOICE !! CALL TO ACTION on the upcoming national holiday honoring the birthday and legacy of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr and I am humbled to have been able to have been trained in my youth to adult with so many of Dr. King's family, and so many of his former national staff and allies. This is for all of us who say that "WE ARE THE LEADERS WE HAVE BEEN LOOKING FOR." So we need not have a "paralysis of analysis," but just a public acceptance for this assignment and call to ACTION!! I am making this public appeal that we all use the upcoming birthday of Dr. King to announce that we are all using this time to publicly give re-birth to Dr. King's last ECONOMIC agenda he called his POOR PEOPLES CAMPAIGN, his last campaign on earth.

We do not need anyones permission to announce that we are going to accept and WORK on Dr. King's last SPECIFIC AGENDA where he specifically directed Black and Poor People to re-direct more the dollars the spend everyday with our own community financial institutions to then have the community capital to help create, sustain and increase our community businesses, jobs and institutions in our OWN majority Black and poor communities - then Dr. King said that Black and poor people should not financially support major corporations in our communities that did not have Black products on their shelves and community benefit agreements to engage Black professional services. He went on to say that Black businesses would then have more of our own financial capacity to control our politics.

So this CALL TO ACTION can support Dr. Kings ECONOMIC AGENDA that NO ONE can stop us from just DOING under our own leadership. WE can help change the local and national narrative in that WHY shouldnt all the Black grassroots leadership CHANGE the narrative in convincing even more that the best way to celebrate Dr. King is to give re-birth to his ECONOMIC agenda in our majority Black and poor communities. As Chairman of National Black Wall Street Chicago, I am looking forward to returning to our organization with the help of COUNTRY FINANCIAL on Thursday January 19th King Legacy Economic Luncheon to kick off the re-birth our our Black Wall Street agenda that indeed includes Dr. King's ECONOMIC agenda as I was taught by The Rev. Jesse Jackson Sr, Rev Willie T. Barrow and so many other of Dr. King's former national staff and allies.

Let SOME of us take the leadership in celebrating Dr. King's birthday by giving birth again to whats was Dr. King's OWN last agenda that HE was working on himself before he was assassinated! So based on the Black communities double digit Black unemployment; the need for more Black businesses and jobs etc is why National Black Wall Street is asking all the Black Wall Street chapters across the country and others to publicly proclaim that WE are taking the lead in saying that WE can use Dr. King's ECONOMIC Agenda to help address these economic issues facing the Black community!!!
