On March 5th Chicago's Gazette newspaper endorses Jimmy Lee Tillman, II, candidate for 1st Congressional District in the GOP primary over his opponent.

"Jimmy Lee Tillman is making his third run for Congress on the Republican side in the 1st District against teacher August Deuser.

Deuser offers boilerplate conservative positions: cut government spending and debt, blame mental health problems for gun violence, instead of the easy availability of firearms.

We are intrigued by Tillman’s unique take that, if he were a Congressman, he could bring a different perspective to the Republican Party and make it deal with issues important to African-Americans. We agree with him that a choice would be better than one-party rule, and we like his determination to revitalize the two-party system in Chicago.
With fresh ideas, Jimmy Lee Tillman deserves the Republican nomination.
