I know that after all these years one should NOT have to do this but here I am today REMINDING the news editors that today November 25th is the anniversary of the day that Chicago's first Black Mayor Harold Washington died on November 25th, 1987 and I'd like to see some reflection of that on the newscasts today -- and I am already prepared for some of their answers like, "it would be easier to remember of there was actually SOMETHING going on, on this date to cover." Thanks to our legendary radio station WVON 1690AM - The Talk of Chicago to have features on Harold on this day, yet I still expect our major media outlets to mention this historic day whether there is actually an event to cover or not.
