Calling Black male elementary and high school teachers and college professors to meet us on Wednesday, October 15, 2014 at The Black Star Project to create and execute a plan to teach Black boys to read proficiently and to mentor Black boys. 

Black men are less than 2% of all teachers in American schools.  Only 10 % of eighth-grade Black boys in American schools read proficiently.  Black boys are at the absolute rock bottom of the American education system and the top of the American prison system. 

It is time for Black men to teach Black boys to read, to perform math and to grow into strong, positive and productive Black men.  We need all Black men, (any Black man), educators, professional men, college students, GED recipients, high school graduates, high school dropouts, or Black men who simply understand the value for educating and mentoring Black boys to join us.
