Rauner’s DHS Disrupts Behavioral Health Services for Thousands
Another Rauner Agency Fails Under Governor’s Mismanagement
Chicago, IL — Thousands of Illinoisans receiving behavioral health services have seen their care disrupted after a computer glitch at Bruce Rauner’s Department of Human Services (DHS) has gone unresolved for months.
DHS launched a new computer system to register Illinoisans in mental health care and addiction treatment services, but the Community Behavioral Healthcare Association says the system “has failed to function as intended and has disrupted care for thousands of individuals with mental illness.”
“Thousands of Illinoisans have seen their behavioral health services disrupted as a Rauner agency once again fails to function under this governor’s mismanagement,” said Pritzker campaign spokeswoman Jordan Abudayyeh. “Providing basic healthcare to the people who need it most is a core obligation of the state and Bruce Rauner is failing to meet that obligation.”
