After Bruce Rauner snubbed The historic Chicago Defender by not doing any advertising in their Election edition as his campaign promised to do in his promised Black community media buy with other Black media as well - Rauner has now moved on to snubbing historic radio station WVON by not confirming to appear on their roundtable discussion for Governor candidates, and his snub allowed Quinn to benefit by WVON re-airing their forum with Quinn.
Good for Quinn and BAD for Rauner who is now slipping bad in not fulfilling some of the major Black campaign spending pledges at our National Black Wall Street Chicago "Campaign Spending" Forum he attended which at its root cannot be snubbing two of the historic Black community media outlets in The Chicago Defender and WVON!

NOTE The copy of September memo below was submitted by Mark Allen to Rauner Campaign contact person summarizing the items from the July 29th Rauner appearance at the National Black Wall Street Chicago Campaign Spending Forum. My concern now is WHAT should we have expected to be included from Item #7 ???
August 29th marked what should have been the 30 DAY RESPONSE REPORT that Rauner made to the audience at National Black Wall Street Chicago on July 29th. We had an excited packed room so of course I am getting calls from all over as to WHEN I am going to schedule the follow meeting for Rauner to fulfill his commitment to come back to the group.
I am going to list the top items covered in the meeting to help you prepare for the Rauner follow-up.:
1. Rauner publicly committed to having campaign bank accounts in local community Black financial institutions
2. Rauner confirmed that Hermene Hartman went from a part time campaign consultant to Full Time consultant and would be the specific contact person for all Black community management and outreach concerns; AND he committed to coming back with a list of names of the key Black consultants and others advising his campaign
3. Rauner committed to having a budget for voter registration and voter education on the key urban issues that would be addressed by the campaign
4. Rauner commmitted to having a role for ex-offenders to play in organizing their constituencies on how the campaign would address issues important to those ex offenders trying to gain and sustain their roles as productive citizens
5. Rauner committed (to a standing ovation) that Bob Israel was definately going to be brought on board as a field consultant to help manage a larger street field operation modeled after the the successful Primary campaign outreach
6. Rauner committed to having a number of full time field offices on the south and westsides
7. Rauner committed to a major Black media outreach budget and the use of Black vendors and service providers to produce
8. Rauner committed that Hermene Hartman would announce a public policy input process for Blacks to have real vehicle for having urban issues address
9, But of course the ONE ISSUE that overshadowed ALL of the above mentioned items was the PERSONAL one million dollar investment in The Southside Community Federal Credit Union. (which got the second standing ovation)
10. Rauner committed that Black Republicans and their operations would fall under your field budget to include the outreach of Black Republican Committeemen.

BREAKING NEWS !!
Rauner/Republicans SNUB historic Chicago Defender Newspaper !!
I did not believe the calls I received telling me that The historic Chicago Defender's 2014 Election Edition did not have one ad from from Governor candidate Bruce Rauner, Senate candidate Jim Oberweis or any of the Republican party candidates for election DESPITE their public propoganda about their serious attempts to reach out to the Black community for their votes next week. So I went and got a copy of the legendary Black newspaper to see for myself that indeed the 2014 election edition of The Chicago Defender had NOT ONE ad promoting the candidacies of Rauner, Oberweis and no other Republican candidate for office "allegedly" looking for Black votes. Rauner and others may have found their way to spend some of this historic campaign spending with the historic Black radio station WVON and thats good BUT HOW do you snub The Chicago Defender??
Now I can understand if a number of the many other lessor known Black owned newspapers were out of these candidates radar, BUT NOT Chicago's oldest Black owned newspaper!! I reached out to The Chicago Defender to now find out that throughout the campaign The Chicago Defender was NOT on Rauner and other Republican candidates radar to receive their ongoing campaign announcements of their outreach efforts the the Black community. Rauner Campaign allegedly NEVER responded to any of The Chicago Defender reporters many requests for personal interviews with the candidates; they never attended the traditional editorial board meetings that Governor Quinn, Senator Durbin and other Democratic candidates responded to, and any reports of Rauner, Oberweis and other Republican candidates Black outreach efforts were obtained through other sources but NEVER directly from Rauner, Oberweis or other Republican candidates!
This snub of the historic Chicago Defender was hard for me to believe when my Black economic advocacy organization National Black Wall Street Chicago hosted the meeting where Rauner came and made a public pledge that he would have an aggressive Black media outreach effort that would include WVON and other Black media, so HOW does that outreach NOT also first include the historic Chicago Defender??
From talking to some other contacts at other Black community newspapers, Black e-blast and Black social media outlets their ONLY personal invitation for them to have access to Rauner was when our organization (National Black Wall Street Chicago) hosted the meeting that Rauner attended, and the other was from when Oberweis had his Black community office opening and that personal invitation came from Black PR agency JERRY THOMAS PUBLIC RELATIONS COMPANY and Jerry Thomas was released from Oberweis employ after that press event thus no more communication on Obwerweis behalf to the Black community media!!
While Governor Quinn may not have personally attended The National Black Wall Street Chicago invitaion to personally come to the organization and commit to our CAMPAIGN SPENDING AGENDA, Quinn Campaign did fulfill part of our requests that included public commitment to spend money with Black vendors and professional service providers. On the Black media side, Quinn and Durbin DID fulfill the basic foundation of our requests to advertise
starting with our historic Black media outlets of WVON and The Chicago Defender. Today I commended the Quinn Campaign for not only advertising with WVON and The Chicago Defender but the visibility that Quinn is getting from his promotion on a number of Black social media outlets, the Blacks involved in his telemarketing, and significant that his Black community grassroots field operation "publicly" actively and systematically included veteran street activists ex-offenders and their organizations that engage those constituencies in this important elections Get-Out-The-Vote Efforts!!
