"When we talk about the so-called diagnosing of our people, it involves an analysis not only of the behavior of our people, but of the behavior of the society as a whole; and we must recognize this fact and face up to it as a people. Diagnosis then is not merely procedural or neutral.

In other words, before we can be prepared for the future, we must comprehend the past. Therefore, here is a partial list of just some of the thousands of past (and present) inventions, patents, improvements, discoveries, creations, and innovations by and pertaining to

Following is a summary of the founding organization and an interview with former administrator, Babatu Y. Olubayo.

I recently saw a documentary of the Black Panther Party that aired at the E Street Cinema in Washington, DC.  It was the most compelling and accurate portrayal of the organization that I have seen.  Many have sought to demonize the young Black activists and their efforts have gone largely unrecognized.  The documentary is a collection of news clips and interviews with authentic voices. It puts to rest the contention that the Black Panther Party was a terrorist organization and/or a hate group. I

Why Black African Americas Should Care About Fracking?

by

C. Earl Campbell DA 3rd, MSW

The answer is clear. We too value clean air and water. Black African Americans have all too often been the victims of environmental racism caused by Corporate greed. Hydraulic fracturing is a process used in nine out of 10 natural gas wells in the United States, where millions of gallons of water, sand and toxic chemicals (poisons) are pumped underground to break apart Shale Rock in order to release the gas trap

Well, the Eagles have won the election, but the turkeys and buzzards are already circling to try to thwart the progress that has been made.  According to the communique below from the CEO of the International Association for Women of Color Day, Susan Brooks, 97 racist Rep-ugh-blicans have written a letter to President Obama claiming that UN Ambassador Susan Rice is unfit to assume the role of Secretary of State when Hillary Clinton vacates the post.

Just to catch you up on what's going on, today is Tuesday,  September 18, 2012 in New York City:  President Barack Obama is in New York at a gala fundraiser hosted by Beyonce` and Jay-Z; the UN is in session in New York.  The President was on David Letterman for the entire hour of the show (those lucky guests, I know they were thrilled out of their minds); and though we were threatened by a tornado, and two car jackings, New Yorkers pretty much took it all in stride.

It was probably because she was busier than a one-armed paper hanger designing and developing a new Television Network, showing that Oprah Winfrey is not the only diva genius mogul am

In January of this year the National Newspaper Publishers Association, the HBCU, and the Black Fraternities and Sororities (also known as the Divine 9) and other Black organizations held an emergency press conference in reference to the tragic beating death of Robert Champion Jr., by members of the marching band in some sort of bizarre hazing ritual.
It was just announced that the President of the University has resigned (been fired?) from his post; and the band has been

This venerable event has been around now longer than most of Brooklyn's residents- celebrating 54 years and counting. It's full of wonderful, creative work from time honored and new artists – local and national. Interestingly enough, with June also being Black Music Month and Caribbean Heritage Month, there is a cross section of cultures converging on this tiny, yet highly signficant little part in Bed-Stuy – on Fulton between Lewis and Marcus Garvey Boulevards.
