A short explanation of this project: Deep Tones for Peace is an international Internet music performance for peace in the Middle East, to take place on Saturday, April 25th, ‘O9 in Jerusalem and New York City, and to be streamed worldwide, performed simultaneously at three times of day by 2O internationally recognized bassists gathered in both cities. Project coordinators are Mark Dresser, Sarah Weaver, Jean-Claude Jones, Barre Phillips, and Suzanne Thorpe; affiliate organizations are World Association of Former United Nations Internes and Fellows, International Society for Improvised Music, International Society of Bassists, Electronic Music Foundation, and Kadima Collective. Deep Tones for Peace will be played simultaneously on April 25th by Thierry Barbe (from France), Ora Boazsson (Israel), Han Han Cho (Taiwan), Mark Dresser (USA), Ken Filiano (USA), Irina-Kalina Goudeva (Bulgaria/ Denmark), Henry Grimes (USA), Mark Helias (USA), J.C. Jones (Israel), Michael Klinghoffer (Israel), Rob Nairn (Australia), Chi Chi Nwanoku (UK), William Parker (USA), Barre Phillips (USA/France), David Phillips (USA), Bertram Turetzky (USA), and Sarah Weaver (USA), +3.
