DREWRYVILLE, VIRGINIA – On October 15, 2005, every independent Black journalist of note, came to Washington, D. C. to commemorate 10th year of the largest event in history to dramatize the Liberation of black people. This was The Million Man March, October 16, 1995.

However, the notable Black journalist were invited to come a day early to build a Pro-Black Media Network: This invitation was given by Publisher H. Khalif Khalifah and his Nephew, Attorney Opio Sokoni. The Pro-Black Media Forum venue was in the Moot Courtroom at the Howard University School of Law. And was covered live by C-SPAN for its estimated 50 million viewers worldwide: the first time most of the well known Black Muslims and orthodox Black Nationalist had ever been on the, arguably, most important of Caucasian news networks.

THE PURPOSE STATED CLEARLY AT THE OUTSET

The purpose of the Pro-Black Media Forum was to correct a glaring deficiency in how the National Black Community communicates news and information by and about itself. In 2005, the inefficiency had been dramatized recently by the tragic event called Katrina. Like other events that devastated the Black community, the neglect, killing & other damage done to Black Men, Women and Babies was seen on International Media systems and networks: these institutions are 100% owned and operated by white people.

Also like other catastrophes, many, like the MOVE devastation, was in recent memory. It turns out that the people who controlled the flow of information about both Katrina and its aftermath were white people: the purpose to build Pro-Black Media networks and systems was to respond t owhat had happened in New Orleans before, during and after hurricane Katrina. The sponsors of the Pro-Black Media Forum were determined this would never happen again.

“The information before Katrina was flawed and suspect; the information during Katrina was flawed and suspect; and in the aftermath of Katrina, amazingly the black victims of the crime was blamed for the crime!” stated Khalifah in his opening Statement of Purpose, to a full Howard University Moot Courtroom of student attorneys, Black nationalist and Black Community Organizers/Activists.

STATED PURPOSE IGNORED BY SOME JOURNALIST

Though the stated purpose for being at Howard University was stated clearly, most of the Black journalist took this opportunity to speak to the worldwide audience to say publicly, essentially, what they were saying, or would have said if given a chance on radio/t.v. as Katrina was happening.

Also, to match, or over match, the “bravado” of condemnation that was spewed by the Journalist, one, Dr. Kamau Kambon, declaring he was “going out of bounds,” made a declaration that had such meaning and purpose that C-SPAN closed down quickly; and until recently had not marketed the program as a DVD product as it always does.

But recently, 6 years out from the event, they have made this DVD available to be purchased or viewed by the public. Now that one of the Sponsors, Ra Sebek H. Khalif Khalifah, has finally gotten a complete copy, he is to appear and show it on Harambee Radio and TV network, leading into “Black Activism Month in Black America,” August 2011.

Harambee Radio/TV was founded by one of the Black Journalist and presenters at the Pro-Black Media Forum. Friend and Colleague of Khalifah, Dalani Aamon; was one the few who adhered to the programs stated purpose. He has also built Harambee Radio/TV into an imposing presence within the National Black Community, abided into the stated purpose for The Pro-Black Media Forum: He is independent with a clear intention to keep The Black Nation independently informed without dependency on white controlled media.

The DVD will be shown in its entirety two consecutive weekends, in two hour segments on Friday evenings, July 22-29, 2011, 7 to 9 pm. Khalifah will open with a statement; and end by taking questions about The Pro-Black Media Network.

The Four hour DVD is available from The Nat Turner Reference Library, for donations in whatever amount over $25.00. Donations under $25.00 will be given another rare gift: The booklet called “$101 Questions and Answers About Nat Turner and the BLA of 1831.” To Donate please https://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=_s-xclick&hosted_butt...
