Within moments of stopping him, five Memphis pigs surrounded Tyre. They began to beat him mercilessly. These killers, all members of an “elite” police unit called The Scorpions, continued clubbing, kicking, tasing, and pepper spraying Tyre for three minutes.

Tyre Nichols, 29-year-old, murdered by Memphis cops

Tyre’s family’s lawyer, who saw a police body-cam video of the beating, said, “What he was in that [video] was defenseless the entire time. He was a human piñata for those police officers. It was unadulterated, unabashed, nonstop beating of this young boy for three minutes.” Tyre asked, over and over, as he was being brutalized by the cops, “What did I do?” What he did was be a young Black man, driving through a part of town the Memphis Police Department designates as “high-crime.” And that got him a death sentence from these pigs.

Listen, really listen, to the anguish and anger in the voices of Tyre Nichols’s parents.

RowVaughn Wells, who also was shown some of the body-cam video, told reporters, “Once the video started and I heard my son's voice, I lost it. I couldn't stay in the room. All I heard him say was, what did I do? And once I heard that, I lost it.”

Rodney Wells, Tyre’s stepfather, said, “Our son ran because he was scared for his life. He did not run because he was trying to get rid of no drugs, no gun, no any of that. He ran because he was scared for his life. And when you see the video, you will see why he was scared for his life.… They handcuffed him and set him, propped him up on the car. And as he fell over they’d tell him ‘sit back up.’ You know, and he would slump back over again and they would make him sit back up. They never rendered any aid.”

Three days later after this pack of murderous cops stopped and brutalized him, Tyre Nichols died.

It took 11 days after Tyre Nichols was beaten before the federal government announced an investigation; 13 days before the cops were fired from their jobs; and 19 days before the pigs were arrested and charged with murder. Videos from the cops’ body cams still haven’t been released as of this writing. These pigs are among the few across the country who are ever charged for the murders they commit. This system lets killer cops walk time after time – they are doing their job, defending a system that allows them – encourages them – to brutalize and kill people, knowing they will rarely be punished, that their crimes will be covered up by district attorneys, and that the media will repeat whatever it’s told.

How Long?

A little less than three years ago, millions of people rose up in beautiful protests against police brutality and murder in cities and towns across the country. Different schemes were proposed as an answer to the case after case of police brutality and murder that plague this country, especially targeting Black, Brown, and Native American youth. Schemes like hiring more people of color, and more women, to be police. Like having all cops wear body cams.

In Memphis, a Black woman is the chief of police. The five pigs who killed Tyre Nichols are Black, as is about 58% of the Memphis Police Department. Memphis police are taught “de-escalation strategies” and told to “intervene” if they saw their fellow cops using “excessive force.”

Ask yourself this: How many Black and other oppressed people have been killed by murdering cops in one city after another, just since the protests of 2020, and the “reforms” many police departments initiated? Here’s part of the answer: “Police killed the highest number of people on record in 2022.” At the beginning of this year, three men murdered by the Los Angeles police within three days. In Houston, three people were run over and killed in the first three weeks of the year by cops speeding through the streets on their way to alleged crime scenes. Those are just some examples, from just two cities.

And Tyre Nichols is dead.

Murder, brutality, repression, imprisonment, injustice against Black and other oppressed people at every turn—this has been going on for centuries! It is a cornerstone of this system of capitalism-imperialism that exploits and oppresses people across the world, and is destroying the planet itself. And how many of the people killed have found justice from a system for whom the lives and humanity of Black people mean absolutely nothing? How long has this system carried out exploitation, outrage and mayhem against Black and other oppressed people, here and around the world?

How long? Way too long. It is crucial to fight for justice for Tyre Nichols, and not to stop until it’s won. But unless and until we make revolution—unless and until we overthrow this system… unless and until we defeat and dismantle their armed forces of repression and violence… this same shit, along with all the other horrors this system brings down, will go on. And on. And on.

We need a revolution—an actual revolution. The leader of the revolution, Bob Avakian, says:

…We have two choices: either, live with all this—and condemn future generations to the same, or worse, if they have a future at all…

Or,

MAKE REVOLUTION!

STOP Genocidal Persecution, Mass Incarceration, Police Brutality and Murder of Black and Brown People!

Our Strong Relationship With Such Pressing And Moving Administrationshttps://www.theblacklist.net/forum/topics/our-strong-relationship-with-such-pressing-and-moving2022-03-07T09:47:34.000Z2022-03-07T09:47:34.000ZRitu Somanihttps://www.theblacklist.net/members/moversinhyderabad

We here are Packers and Movers Hyderabad who aims to give the best services and household shifting services to our customers as we know that if our customers will be happy then only we will get the best out of our business. Given Terra's unmatched dedication to retaining the nutritional integrity of their ingredients, we are thrilled to partner and offer fonio to American consumers."

"We look forward to working with IYA Foods on making fonio more widely accessible to health-conscious consumers across the US. Terra and IYA share a common goal of creating positive social impact through tasty and nutritious food," said Diedhiou.

To serve more people amidst the pandemic, they switched to e-commerce and began delivering plant-based burgers nationwide.

Duane Myko, who graduated from Morgan State University, Danita Jones, who is from Bowie State University, and Chef Jumoke Jackson teamed up to bring vegan burgers to the community. Through that, they are hoping to educate more people with the advantages of eating healthy vegan foods.

It started when Myko saw firsthand the benefits of a vegan lifestyle from his mother who was able to fight lupus for more than 36 years. They wanted to share it with others, especially Black people who are known to have higher rates of blood pressure, heart disease, and obesity.

In 2019, they launched Everything Legendary offering four types of vegan burgers all created by Chef Jumoke Jackson in the kitchen, not in a lab. The burgers -- classic burger, pepper jack burger, cayenne pepper burger, and cheddar burger -- are all soy-free and gluten-free. They started selling their vegan burgers from local stores in Washington, DC.

Now, they are also available to order online. Although the switch to e-commerce meant they had to slightly increase their price, a lot of people still support the business as their burgers are believed to be "worth every cent."

If you’re renting, you’re not building any equity; you’re merely increasing the wealth of your landlord.

Property ownership passed down to your descendants is how you generational wealth is built. It stabilizes families and gives us control over our own neighborhoods.

Homes are an asset. They generally appreciate over time, meaning they increase in value.

This is especially true in many of the neighborhoods in which we reside that have seen a sharp increase in gentrification due largely to the neighborhood’s proximity to downtown. Ask anyone in any major city from DC and Chicago, to LA and New York.

“It isn’t cool to be in the club spending all of this money, or having cars and jewelry — but you don’t own any real estate? You don’t own a fourplex? If the answer is no, you’re not a real hustler.”

-Nipsey Hussle

How good of an investment is a Home?

Let’s say, for example, you purchase a home or condo for $200,000 with a $20,000 down payment. You already have $20,000 in equity.

You will most likely need a mortgage to finance the purchase of your property. This mortgage payment is made up of the principal (the amount of money you borrowed) + the interest (the money you pay the lender for the privilege of borrowing their money).

You can read up on the details here but essentially, as you make monthly mortgage payments over time, you build up more and more equity into your home. You end up owning a greater percentage of your home over time until you own 100% of it one day.

And when that day arrives, there’s a very good chance that the property you purchased for $200,000 at one point, is now worth much more.

Take a look at this chart that looks at appreciation rates of major metro areas. Go ahead, I’ll wait…

Example of Making Money with Home Ownership

Home prices in Atlanta, for example, increased 9% between 2018 and 2019. Sticking with that same example, if you bought a house in the ATL for 200K last year, and lived in your lovely home for at least 2 years, (assuming a constant rate of appreciation), in 2020 your house would be worth ~$237,000.

You just made $37,000 in two years, simply by paying your mortgage and living in your home. You now have $37,000 in equity!

You can borrow against that equity to fund your next business idea, you can invest it, or you can continue to pay your mortgage and build more equity.

If you were renting the past two years, you haven’t made a dime. Hopefully, I made my point.

The State of Black Home Ownership Rates

Here’s the problem. According to a report from the National Association of Real Estate Brokers’s, an association dedicated to increasing black home ownership, home ownership rates are 73% for white people while hovering at only 41% for black people, which is pretty much the same rate of black home ownership in the 1960s; after the Fair Housing Act of 1968. Let that sink in.

50 years of federal, state and educational efforts around addressing home ownership rates for black people and we have barely moved the needle. As a matter of fact, black home ownership rates have declined since 2004.

The African American home owner population was hit hard by the 2008 Financial Crisis, due in part to predatory loans.

There are many more reasons for the decline in black home ownership that are outside the scope of this article but suffice to say, we need to do better.

Is home ownership right for you? We work with black realtors across the country to help guide you through the home buying and selling process.

Why are some paraphernalia tougher to move than others; know the exact reason with top packers and movers Hyderabadhttps://www.theblacklist.net/forum/topics/why-are-some-paraphernalia-tougher-to-move-than-others-know-the2019-03-19T05:43:52.000Z2019-03-19T05:43:52.000ZRitu Somanihttps://www.theblacklist.net/members/moversinhyderabad

Is this true, that moving some stuffs are more difficult to move than other goods?
Well YES it can so, Packers and Movers Hyderabad says- we have seen many moves and handle uncountable families during move within India and outside India as well, people are just different with the different stuffs in their house. They react differently and they behave differently for specific goods, so it can happen that moving a particular good can be more difficult than moving any other household goods.

Best And Reliable Packers And Movers Hyderabad
What are those goods which are difficult to move- according to packers and movers in Hyderabad?
These goods are normal like other goods in your house, but there are several sort of attachments or feelings joined with that good which made you insecure for that and you lose your temper and get possessive for it. This is a human tendency and anyone can get emotional with his/ her precious item when moving. Because a insecurity comes in heart that do Packers And Movers Hyderabad to Delhi will safely relocate it, do they will safely pack the stuffs, is insurance is available, do I need to have insurance for this good and many queries which are running simultaneously in your mind and we can completely comprehend it. Therefore, we provide you such moving services which ensure you a safe shift for all your belongings, because moving with an experience hand and renowned name is enough to trust us.

What are those emotions which make you feel insecure for your goods?
Well movers and packers in Hyderabad says- the emotions and feelings can vary from person to person and stuff to stuff, but there are some emotions connected with the good which make you feel insecure when moving them and these emotion can be :

Sentimentality
Have you heard about people who are sentimental? If not then know about this in brief –sentimental is basically an emotional connect with someone which makes you feel cry and alone without it. Living from years or months in Hyderabad and now fortunately or unfortunately you have to move to different house, fear or missing of old house, memories, friends, parties, colleagues or relatives can make you sentimental for them. The same situation occurs when you have very close memory or attachment with a specific stuff in your house, many memories are linked with and the person who gave you has a special role in your life, for such goods you feel more and have a fear of losing them, you think while packing if it get slip down from the movers hand then? Or you lose it while loading, or unloading the goods if it misses it then? This fear of losing can be tough to make it wrap and relocate- because we have seen many cases in which this happens.

Fragility
This term is referring to those goods which have tendency to break down and have in nature that irresponsibility with them might create an environment that you lose it. Many people are fond of collection a glass wears and make a collection of it. For them packing and moving becomes a terror and fear, so this fear emotion again comes in between moving a stuff to new location. Packers And Movers Hyderabad to Kolkata you get proper packing services and safety in moving services, because we use high quality packaging materials to wrap the goods, and have some special cases to pack the glass wears, so do not have fear when Packers and Movers in Hyderabad is here.

Survival
You would be thinking that glass items, cloths, show pieces can easily survive anywhere because it’s a non-living thing then what packers and movers Hyderabad is talking about with survival. Well as some are good at collecting something and have it as a passion similarly some people are fond of their pets and plants. They love to have them and make them a special part in their life like a family member. So this happens, that how Packers and Movers Hyderabad will you to move your pet to new location, and how we will move your plants is a biggest mystery. Because packing them in not right and even you need to give them water on time and also needs sunlight otherwise they can lose their life. So this fear of survival also comes in between when moving pets and plants.

Source url: https://packersmovershyderabadcity.in/post/why-are-some-paraphernalia-tougher-to-move-than-others-know-the-exact-reason-with-top-packers-and-movers-hyderabad

Ideological Diversity Resolution Takes Over Apple’s Annual Investor Meeting - Free Enterprise Project Proposal Sparks Vigorous Debate Among Its Investorshttps://www.theblacklist.net/forum/topics/ideological-diversity-resolution-takes-over-apple-s-annual-invest2019-03-02T20:00:24.000Z2019-03-02T20:00:24.000ZSendMeYourNewshttps://www.theblacklist.net/members/SendMeYourNews

A shareholder resolution calling on Apple to increase the ideological diversity of its liberal-leaning board of directors sparked serious debate among investors, taking up nearly the entire business portion of today’s annual meeting of Apple investors.

They’re also showing increased confidence in the state of small business moving into 2019, according to a survey from SMB financing company Guidant Financial and leading online credit marketplace LendingClub Corporation (NYSE: LC).

The 2019 Small Business Trends surveyed more than 2,700 current and aspiring owners nationwide. The 2019 Small Business Trends report gathers findings about the current state of African-American small business ownership in the United States.

Key findings include:

Thirty-eight percent of African-American small business owners are women — a big distinction from the average small business owner, of whom only 23 percent are female.

Fifty-six percent of African-American small business owners rated their happiness at nine or 10 on the rating scale (10 being the happiest), 6 percent more than the average small business owner.

African-American small business owners had an increase in confidence in the state of small business with a 9 percent increase to 30 percent compared to last year’s survey results of 28 percent.

Forty-five percent of African-American SMB owners are boomers, while the national average is 57 percent.

Thirty-two percent of African-American small business owners are Gen X versus 25 percent of the overall SMB owners surveyed.

African American small business owners are 23 percent millennial while the average is 18 percent.

A desire to “pursue my own passion” was the primary reason African-American respondents went into business for themselves, at 28 percent, followed closely by “ready to be my own boss” (27 percent). Other top reasons to go into small business included “opportunity presented itself” (17 percent) and “dissatisfaction with corporate America” (11 percent).

Forty-seven percent of African-American small business owners are running their businesses by themselves, compared to the 33 percent of average small business owners.

With a 45 percent increase in industry share, African-American small business owners are opening more health, beauty, and fitness businesses than in the prior year. These categories surpassed last year’s most popular industry, business services for African-American small businesses.

Challenges
Like other SMB owners, lack of capital and cash flow is among the biggest challenge facing African-American business owners. Related to this challenge, studies show minority-owned businesses receive lower loan amounts than non-minority businesses. The 2019 Small Business Trends survey saw this demonstrated in that the majority of African-American small businesses were acquired for under $50,000 (58 percent), while the national average of businesses acquired under $50,000 is 45 percent.

Forty-seven percent are running their businesses by themselves, compared to 33 percent of average SMB owners. African-American businesses have fewer employees, with 38 percent having two to five employees and only 7 percent having six to 10 employees. Contrasting this is the average small business owner, with 41 percent employing two to five employees, and 12 percent employing six to 10 workers.

Financing Trends
More African-American small business owners leverage cash to fund their businesses than other small business owners, 41 percent versus 32 percent respectively.

Alternative forms of funding, such as Rollovers for Business Start-ups (ROBS), a form of financing that allows small businesses owners to tap into eligible retirement accounts to fund their businesses without tax penalties, grew by 21 percent in popularity year over year. Other forms of financing that increased in popularity included unsecured loans, lines of credit, and SBA loans. Meanwhile, equipment leasing and crowdfunding both saw decreases in use — currently only 3 percent of African-American small business owners use equipment leasing, and only 1 percent utilize crowdfunding.

“It’s exciting to see African-American business owners increasingly confident about the state of business in today’s current climate,” said David Nilssen, CEO of Guidant Financial. “It takes confidence to open and maintain a small business and having a positive outlook will inevitably lead to increased growth and opportunity.”

Methodology
Between November 6, 2018 and November 16, 2018, Guidant Financial and LendingClub conducted an email survey of more than 2,700 male and female small business owners and aspiring entrepreneurs from the continental U.S., Alaska, and Hawaii. Ages of respondents ranged from 18 to over 70.

According to observers the male grooming and skin care industry is predicted to reach $26 billion in revenue by 2020. Barbershops, beards and fly hair styles are on the uptick and two African-American entrepreneurs Jaret Patterson and Jason L. Hawkins are posed to take full advantage of this trend. The two partnered in 2015 to found Respected Roots a company that produces facial hair care products especially for African-American men.

Jaret Patterson created his first product, a beard conditioner, to solve a very real personal challenge; there were no facial hair products that met his needs. Patterson started off with the one product and he sold it while working full time on his 9-5 job. He partnered with Jason Hawkins who contributed the marketing and sales acumen that allowed them to increase their brand visibility and market presence. They saved their profits, plied them back into the company until they got to the point they could focus all their time and energy into the company and began to branch out beyond the Atlanta metropolitan area.

The partners were in Philadelphia last month vending and demonstrating their products at the 2018 International Locks Conference. Jaret took time to share why and how they formed the company. The former Detroit native who relocated to Atlanta said, “The company is co-owned by myself and Jason Hawkins. I created this brand Respected Roots for many reasons, the first product I had was a beard conditioner. I wanted something I could put on my beard that was first natural that feels good and smells good but I couldn’t find anything on the market so I had to create it. My beard was brittle and dry, lotion wasn’t enough it would break off so I created a formula to moisturize my beard and skin.

At heart I’m a problem solver, I’m a creator. I was that kid who got in trouble because I took the VCR apart to see how it worked than put it back together and made it work. That’s how the formulas came about. I always wanted our people to look and feel like kings and queens when they use the product, that’s why our colors are black and gold because they are royal colors.”

The company makes a series of products that address the issues Black men experience with their skin and beards. “We have a razor bump solution that’s great for ingrown hairs that gently smoothes the skin so the hairs can penetrate the follicle and not return into the skin. Hair doesn’t grow straight all over your head and face; some people have a swirl pattern on their cheek and you may get razor bumps on that part of your face. You may have to change the shaving pattern instead of shaving against the grain shave with the grain by that I mean the direction of hair growth. You want to minimize skin irritation. Our products are for enhancing what you already have by replacing the natural oils in the skin.”

The company also makes other products for the skin; while they are primarily a men’s brand women like and use the body butter too. To market their products the company participates in shows like the International Locks Conference, they also offer Online videos, tutorials and sales on their Website, they use social media, they conduct focus groups to get feedback about their products and they cultivate networks of professionals and they are planning to conduct seminars and workshops to familiarize the public with their products. “We want to be able to put our product in as many places as possible while having a mutually beneficial relationship. We have our products in places like Wal-Mart and the mom and pop barber shops.”

Their short term goal is to expand their brand profile and availability and create contacts with regional distributors. “Short term our goal is to continue to grow the brand nationally. Wherever you go to get your beauty products eventually you will see our Respected Roots products. This is our first trip to Philly we started up north in New York and are working our way down.”

Long term they want to cultivate economic empowerment by showing others how to have a business. “We want to teach people how to be business minded, educate them in multiple ways, teach consumers how to take care of themselves, educate barbers how to create a business while they are in business and show people how to start and LLC and what tax laws to be aware of to grow your business.”

Respected Roots products are available at Amazon and on their Website https://www.respectedroots.com/#

-30-

The HALL Group commits $1 million in grants to support entrepreneurs most impacted by our country's opportunity gaphttps://www.theblacklist.net/forum/topics/the-hall-group-commits-1-million-in-grants-to-support-entrepreneu2018-10-31T16:09:23.000Z2018-10-31T16:09:23.000ZSendMeYourNewshttps://www.theblacklist.net/members/SendMeYourNews

Craig Hall Commits $1 Million In Grants For Entrepreneurs.

Veteran entrepreneur rings in company's 50th anniversary with commitment to the future of American entrepreneurship through nonprofit partnerships.

In October 1968, Craig Hall – an entrepreneur, philanthropist, vintner, art collector and New York Times bestselling author – founded HALL Group at age 18 with the purchase of his first rooming house in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Purchased with $4,000 he had saved from childhood ventures, the rooming house launched Hall's 50-year entrepreneurial career, which has seen highs, lows and the creation of a number of highly successful entrepreneurial ventures.

To mark HALL Group's 50th anniversary, Hall has committed to provide $1 million in grants from the Craig and Kathryn Hall Foundation to help nonprofit partners invest in and support entrepreneurs who are most impacted by our country's opportunity gap. Through partnerships with select nonprofits, this first grant will provide underserved entrepreneurs with critical access to capital, mentorship and other resources through the selected nonprofits, which HALL Group will source.

"We live in a revolutionary time in the U.S., when technology and innovation have really taken hold and entrepreneurship should be booming. But the fact is, the U.S. has a widening opportunity gap for traditional entrepreneurs. In all but certain geographical areas of the country and big technology sectors, U.S. entrepreneurship is struggling," said Hall. "Although this technology and innovation is benefiting big companies, the rate of startup formation on an annual basis is roughly half of what it was four decades ago, and the situation is even more dire for women and people of color, along with entrepreneurs in many rural regions of the U.S. This $1 million grant is just the starting point for what our foundation intends to do with entrepreneurial non-profit partnerships long-term."

Female entrepreneurs made up only 4.4 percent of aggregate venture capital deals and only 2.2 percent of venture capital funding in 2017.i In addition, their loans were approved 33 percent less often than those of their male counterparts. The dip from 44 percent of female entrepreneurs in 1997 to just 37 percent in 2016 means we're closing in on a historic low.ii

People of color represent only 1 percent of startup founders, and The Small Business Association (SBA) reports that "Black/African American-owned firms…[are] 81% less likely to be employers than nonminority firms. Similarly Hispanic-, Native American-, and Pacific Islander-owned firms are about 40% as likely to be employers."iii According to the U.S. Department of Commerce's Minority Business Development Agency, the chances of being granted loans are so much lower for people of color than for those of nonminority firms that many minority business owners often won't bother to apply. When they do receive business loans, they're usually forced to pay higher interest rates.iv

In the 1980s, 20 percent of U.S. companies started in rural areas. That percentage shrunk to 12.2 percent in 2017.v In fact, 80% of available startup capital goes to just a few markets.

"The more we put roadblocks and increased regulations in people's way, the more we put the future of our country at risk. My hope is that by increasing awareness of these issues and encouraging policy changes and increased investment in startups, we can reverse these trends and safeguard the future of American entrepreneurship," said Hall.

Hall is a New York Times bestselling author, and has published six books, with one in the publishing process. His current book – titled BOOM: Bridging the Opportunity Gap to Reignite Startups – is slated to release in spring 2019 and is focused on the current state of entrepreneurship in America and how we can fix it.
